about

The entire album is loosely based on the concept of killing yourself but the inner parts of yourself. In this song the lyrical content pertains to the yearning to go back to who you were before everything started in the beginning of the cd before you finally just "snapped" now looking back you wish you could change it instead of being numb, subconsciously wishing for the warmth that ceased to exist within.

lyrics

I don't know what hurts the most.
The malice or the abhorrence inside.
The most horrifying thing is being haunted by someone that is still alive.
You wish would just die..

All I know is the sickness for a home to which I cannot return
The yearning and the grief for the lost places of our past.
Nothing gold lasts.

It's the nostalgic longing to be near a love again that was once filled, with mistakes and blind rage.
How do we tell ourselves we are losing hope?
This is what hurts the most.

All I know is a sickness for a home to which I cannot return.
The yearning and the grief for the lost places of our past.
Nothing gold lasts.

All I know..
Is the sickness..
The yearning..
And the grief..
For the lost places..

The lost places..
Of our past (of our past)
Of our past (of our past)
Of our past..
